We are looking for team members who are level-headed in all situations, cooperative with fellow team members, and enthusiastic about working with children and young adults in an active indoor/outdoor camp environment.
Experience with children is preferred.
Come work with our campers at Camp Edey in Bayport, NY.
We offer programs for girls ages 5-15, including a sleepaway camp experience.
Summer Camp 2023 Camp Edey is located on 95 acres on the beautiful San Souci lakes in Bayport and has been home to amazing Girl Scout outdoor experiences for over 75 years.
Our camp has two pools, an archery range, a gaga ball pit, a disc golf course, hiking trails, and a frog-friendly pond.
Our summer camp program includes things our girls love--like scavenger hunts, outdoor sports, unique weekly themes, and STEM
Art activities in a safe and fun environment that fosters her sense of adventure.
Serving girls entering in grades 1-9 in Fall 2023 Dates:

Summary:
The Aquatics Director oversees and manages the aquatics program, pool operations and waterfront staff to ensure camper safety and that required standards are met.
Must possess a CPR Professional Rescuer certificate issued by the American Red Cross and be at least 21 years of age; Have 3 or more seasons of previous waterfront and experience as a lifeguard and/ or camp aquatics director.

$23 per hour Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Inspects pool area each morning prior to use; oversees staff pool maintenance schedule Tests and records chlorine 3
times per day, adjusting chemical feed equipment as necessary Responsible for back-washing and monitoring pool filters and cleaning deck filters daily Maintains accurate records of camper swimming ability and attendance Establishes and oversees all swimming/waterfront activities; supervises and manages lifeguards and scheduling Ensures camper swim ability is categorized appropriately Implements and oversees bather accountability system to include use of the Buddy Board and conducting Buddy System checks every 15 minutes to begin immediately after camper pool entry Responsible for care and use of boats, canoes, lifesaving and waterfront equipment; responsible for set up and pack up of waterfront equipment for the season Conduct staff and camper training of waterfront safety rules and procedures Report all accidents or injuries to the Health Supervisor and Camp Director Apprises the Camp Director and Property Manager of any pool issues that may warrant closing or servicing Ensures that the camp meets aquatic safety criteria as set forth by ACA standards, New York State Health codes and Safety Activity checkpoints, including maintain appropriate camper to lifeguard/staff ratios Physical ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations and possess the strength and endurance required to maintain constant camper supervision Accepts other duties as assigned Questions?
